Zusammenfassung

Durch eine gründliche Untersuchung und Beratung mit dem Ziel der individuell optima-len, sportartspezifischen Schuh- und Einlagenversorgung kann ein wichtiger Beitrag zur Prävention und Leistungssteigerung geleistet werden. Auch wenn die Literaturlage sehr dünn ist, belegen unsere Erfahrungen und das Feedback unserer Athleten die große Bedeutung sehr guten Schuhwerkes für die Leistungsoptimierung und Verletzungsvermeidung im Rahmen der professionellen Athletenbetreuung. Für die individuelle sportartspezifische Schuh- und Einlagenversorgung ist ein Netzwerk aus motivierten Sportmedizinern und Orthopädietechnikern ebenso erforderlich wie das Feedback der Athleten.

Summary

A thorough clinical examination of athletes, aiming to maximize individual care with sport shoes, can increase the performance of the athletes and the prevention of sport associated injuries. Although there is insufficient evidence in the literature to support this claim, our experience and the feedback from our athletes indicate that this is an important enhancing factor in the overall care of athletes. As such an interdisciplinary collaboration of specialist is needed to facilitate this.
