Zusammenfassung

Gilt die Zytologie als sehr spezifische Methode in der Abklärung malignitätsverdächtiger Prozesse im Pankreas, so ist die Rate nicht diagnostischen Materials eine sehr stark schwankende Größe mit negativen Spitzenwerten von bis zu 48 %. Vorliegende Arbeit zeigt, dass durch eine Standardisierung des gesamten diagnostischen Prozesses von der Entnahme bis zur zytologischen Auswertung ein deutlichen Anstieg repräsentativer Befunde erreicht werden kann.

Abstract

Cytopathology is a very specific method in the diagnosis of malignant lesions of the pancreas, but the rate of non diagnostic material obtained by EUS-guided fine needle aspiration tends to be high. Our data show that the rate of diagnostic samples can be increased by standardization of the diagnostic process.
