Zusammenfassung

Die neue Generation der Kolonkapsel stellt eine alternative, sichere und nicht invasive Option zur Visualisierung der Kolonmukosa dar. Empfehlungen bezüglich der Indikationsstellung und Durchführung wurden in einer 2012 publizierten ESGE-Leitlinie prägnant zusammengefasst. Insbesondere bei Kontraindikationen oder nach inkompletter Koloskopie ist die Kolonkapselendoskopie eine sinnvolle Alternative und Ergänzung zur konventionellen Koloskopie. Eine Empfehlung zum Monitoring chronisch entzündlicher Darmerkrankungen mittels Kolonkapsel wird aktuell bei nicht ausreichender Datenlage nicht ausgesprochen, obwohl einige Studien über eine Korrelation zwischen Kapsel- und Koloskopiebefunden berichten. Vielversprechend scheint die Möglichkeit, mit der Kapselendoskopie des Kolons in der Bevölkerung höhere Teilnahmeraten am Screening auf kolorektale Karzinome zu erzielen. Weitere Studien werden zeigen müssen, ob sich hieraus unter Umständen ein erweitertes Einsatzspektrum für die Videokapselendoskopie des Dickdarms ergibt.

Abstract

The new generation of colon capsule provides an alternative, safe and non-invasive option for the visualization of the colonic mucosa. Recommendations on indication and execution have been summarized concisely in a guideline published in 2012 by the ESGE. In case of contraindications or incomplete colonoscopy, the colon capsule is a reasonable alternative and complement to conventional colonoscopy. Currently, a recommendation on monitoring inflammatory bowel disease by the colon capsule is not available because of insufficient data, although some studies have reported of a correlation between capsule and colonoscopy findings. With the introduction of colon capsule endoscopy a higher participation in screening for colorectal cancer may be achieved. Further studies are needed to show if there are extended fields of application for colon capsule endoscopy.
