Significance

Boron-iridium bimetallic polymeric catalyst 1 was prepared from polymeric catechol borate and an iridium complex via ionic convolution. The N-alkylation of amines with alcohols was performed with 1 mol% Ir of 1 in an aqueous solution under aerobic conditions to give the corresponding alkylated amines in 61-95% yield.
