Significance

A novel palladium-catalyzed decarboxylative cross-coupling of potassium aryltrifluoroborates with α-oxocarboxylic acids to afford aryl ketones has been disclosed. A combination of catalytic Pd(OAc)2 with stoichiometric K2S2O8 was found to be the most efficient system for the reaction.
