Significance

The authors present a rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric conjugate addition of organoboronic acids to enones using a novel type of α,β-divinyl tetrahydropyrroles as chiral acyclic diene ligand, which can be easily synthesized by an enantioselective rhodium-catalyzed allylic C-H ­activation-addition protocol developed by the same group (Q. Li, Z.-X. Yu J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2010, 132, 4542). The addition products were obtained with good to excellent yields and enantio­selectivities.
