Suzuki-Miyaura Coupling with Pd(OAc)2 Supported on an Ionic Copolymer

Significance

A palladium complex supported on a porous ionic copolymer [Pd(OAc)2/2] was prepared by copolymerization of 1 with divinylbenzene followed by treatment with Pd(OAc)2 (eq. 1). The Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of aryl bromides and chlorides with phenylboronic acid proceeded in the presence of Pd(OAc)2/2 in water under air to give the corresponding biaryls in up to 99% yield (23 examples, eq. 2).
