Significance

The authors extended their investigation of 1,3-dicycloadditions of nitrones and enals. In this report less reactive N-alkylnitrones were used, which are synthetically more appealing than the diarylnitrones previously used, as chiral amino alcohols and amino acids can be easily ­accessed.
