Significance

A variety of olefins efficiently undergo a iron-catalyzed aminohydroxylation using N-sulfonyl oxaziridines as terminal oxidants, giving rise to substituted 1,3-oxazolidines. The reaction proceeds in moderate syn-selectivity and the ­regioselectivity of this transformation can be ­controlled by the appropriate choice between a copper or iron catalyst.
