Significance

Palladium-catalyzed arylation of N-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles 1 with aryl bromides 2 was examined in polyethylene glycol (PEG) under air. Thus, the reaction of 1 with 2 was carried out in the presence of Pd(OAc)2, MesCO2H, and K2CO3 in PEG under atmospheric air to give the corresponding products 3 in 52-85% yield with C-5 regioselectivity.
