Significance

The introduction of axial chirality into conjugated polymers is of great interest ­regarding their potential application in enantio­selective sensing. The authors synthesize an axially chiral dibromide featuring an adamantane building block that is configurationally stable under thermal conditions. The dibromide substitution allows further functionalization to build monomers for polymerizations.
