Fe-Catalyzed Cross-Coupling of Alkenyl Carboxylates with Grignard Reagents

Significance

FeCl2 was found to catalyze the cross-coupling reaction of activated alkenyl ­pivalates with Grignard reagents. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions and usually gives high yields. Functionalities, such as acetal and olefin are tolerated. Some aryl carboxylates can also be used in this coupling reaction.
