Significance

The preparation of 2H-1,4-benz­oxazin-2-one derivatives with a basic anion exchange resin (carbonate form) was described. Thus, the hetero-Michael addition of 2-aminophenols 2 (1 mmol) to β-nitroacrylates 1 (1 mmol) was carried out with Amberlite IRA-900 (NaCO3 - form) (1 mmol) in EtOAc (2 mL) at 55 ˚C to give the corresponding products 6 (13 examples, 45-90% yields).
