Abstract

The pseudobulbs of Microstylis wallichi Lindl., an Indian drug used in 'Astavarga', were found to contain one sterol namely β–sitosterol, an alcohol identified as ceryl alcohol, two sugars namely glucose and rhamnose and five basic compounds one of them being choline.
