Zusammenfassung

Adenome sind neoplastische Läsionen der kolorektalen Schleimhaut und Vorläufer des kolorektalen Karzinoms. 40 % der Kolonpolypen zeigen einen flachen / eingesunkenen Aspekt und unterscheiden sich in Malignitätsgrad und genetischem Profil von klassischen Adenomen. Das derzeitige Wissen um die Bedeutung dieser flachen Polypen wurde auf einem Workshop in Kyoto 2008 unter Experten aus Ost und West diskutiert. Die Ergebnisse der Kyoto-Konferenz geben eine neue strategische Grundlage zur Diagnostik und Therapie der flachen Schleimhautprozesse im Kolon.

Abstract

Adenoma are neoplastic lesions of the colorectal mucosa and precursors of colorectal carcinoma. 40 % of all colonic polyps are flat depressed and differ in the grade of malignancy and genetic profile from classic adenoma. The current knowledge of the importance of these flat polyps was dis­cussed among experts from East and West on a workshop in Kyoto 2008. The results of the Kyoto conference give a new strategic basis for diagnostic and therapy of flat colorectal lesions.
