ω–TARAXASTEROL ACETATE FROM INULA VISCOSA

Abstract

ω–Taraxasterol acetate was isolated from the leaves of Inula viscosa L. It was identified by IR, NMR and Mass spectral methods as well as standard sample comparison.

Inula viscosa L. (Compositae) is a native plant o£ Turkey found in various sections. The plant for this study was collected from Istanbul.

There is only a publication dealing with triterpenic compounds of Inula species. Taraxasterol was isolated from Inula chinensis [1].
