Dear (a) Colleague,

The International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology celebrates its 14th year of Foundation awarding works published in 2009. As the standards previously set, we selected the three original articles; an article review, an update and a case report, as electing by the Editorial Board of the Magazine. In an election on demand, with strong participation of over 75% of evaluators our editorial board and with a great diversity of votes, it was showed the great interest in the magazine and the content thereof.

Please be advised that this award will be repeated in 2011 for the three best original articles and again for the best review article and / or upgrade and the best case report. See more details right here on the magazine's guidelines on Internet address (www.arquivosdeorl.org.br).

We cannot fail to remember that all this new format of the International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology concerning the graphic aspect, placing the Magazine in Periodical Management System (PMS) and, especially, this annual award to the best scientific papers published here, began in 2006, by the managing editor Dr. Marcelo M. Hueb.

All authors of selected papers will receive certificates that allude to this award, and complimentary registration for the next congress of Otorhinolaryngology Foundation. Moreover, the first author of each original article will also receive a special award for his work. The articles more voted in 2009 were:

Original Articles

The dry climate is related to hospitalization for epistaxis? Published in vol. 13 #2, 2009. Original Article, with 7.14% of the votes in the category.

Evaluation of the use of an intranasal metallic dilator in patients with syndrome of obstructive sleep apnea on CPAP use. Published in vol. 13 #2, 2009. Original Article, with 5.95% of the votes in the category.

See you soon in our magazine, in future publications. International @rchives of Otorhinolaryngology Magazine starts this year 2010 doing its publishing in Portuguese and in English, in print, which was already a routine in electronic form. The magazine is being distributed in major South American, American, European, and Asian Universities.
