Reattachment of a Tooth Fragment to a Crown-root fractured IncisorPublication History

Crown root fractures often require complex therapeutic measures due to the involvement of root cementum. So far in most cases the tooth fragment has been discarded. Compared to the reattachment of a fracture limited to the clinical crown the reattachment of crown-root fragments is challenged by the need for an adequate drainage of the fracture site.
In this article the adhesive reattachment of a crown-root fragment is described by surgical exposure of the fracture site. This combined surgical-restorative approach may offer a minimal invasive, cost-effective method with favorable esthetic results for the treatment of even extended crown-root fractures.
