Neurosonologie ist in der Akutdiagnostik nach Hirninfarkt oder transitorisch ischämischer Attacke und für therapeutische Entscheidungen zur Sekundärprävention ein unverzichtbares Hilfsmittel. Hier soll ein Überblick über etablierte Methoden und wichtige Innovationen auf dem Gebiet neurosonologischer Untersuchungsmethoden und deren therapeutische Konsequenzen gegeben werden.
