Weitere Folgen sind oft Entwicklungsstörungen und Defizite in sozialer Kompetenz.
Es hat sich gezeigt, dass bei solchen negativen Effekten bewegungsorientierte Angebote
dazu beitragen, den jungen Patienten Lebensfreude und -qualität zurückzugeben. Bewegung
wird zunehmend zum festen Baustein in der Therapie krebskranker Kinder. Nicht zuletzt
deshalb werden in der Universitätskinderklinik Düsseldorf Kindern und Jugendlichen
vermehrt spielerische Bewegungsförderungen angeboten.
Movement in Düsseldorf: Physical activity, play and sports for children suffering
from cancer
Young cancer patients are restricted in their movement. This is often followed by
development disorders and deficits in their social competence. Experience has shown
that such negative effects can be countered by movement oriented activities in order
to enable the young patients lead a happy and qualitative life. This is why physical
activity is increasingly becoming and important element in the therapy of young cancer
patients. In this regard, the Children's Clinic at the University of Düsseldorf offers
young patients physical activity related support encompassed in play.
