Summary

The immediate implant placement and loading cannot only shorten the duration of the therapy but also preserve hard and soft tissues. A careful planning of the treatment is absolutely necessary in order to achieve stable long-term results. In many cases, due to a shortage of hard and/or soft tissues, aesthetic and functionally satisfactory results cannot be achieved and therefore a previous augmentation becomes necessary.

In the following report 4 cases of immediate implant placement and loading are presented and the surgical procedures as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the methodology are discussed.
