Summary
These reports suggest that patients presenting with proximal femur fractures may experience less pain, and greater mobility with total hip arthroplasty (THA) compared with hemiarthroplasty (HA). In addition, revision rates appear to be lower for THA when compared with HA, even though dislocation may initially occur more frequently with THA.
