Zusammenfassung
Das in den Kernen von Weintrauben enthaltene OPC ist eine natürliche Mischung so genannter
Oligomerer Proanthocyanidine, denen eine Vielzahl gesundheitsfördernder Wirkungen
zugeschrieben werden. OPC gehört zur Gruppe der Flavonoide; sekundäre Pflanzeninhaltsstoffe,
welche in einigen Früchten und Gemüsesorten vorkommen. Ganz im Vordergrund der pharmakologischen
Wirksamkeit steht die antioxidative Wirkung des OPC. Es wird ausführlich auf die Beteiligung
der hochreaktiven freien Radikale an der Ätiologie mehrerer Erkrankungen eingegangen
sowie auf die Bedeutung des natürlichen Antioxidans, das dem schädlichen Oxidationsprozess
entgegenwirkt. Ferner wird der wirksame Schutz vor Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen und
Krebserkrankungen besprochen. Die unterschiedlichen Wirkungen des OPC in einem ganzheitlichen
Therapiekonzept werden anhand von Kasuistiken dargestellt.
Abstract
OPC, which is contained in the seeds of grapes, is a natural mixture of so-called
oligomeric proanthocyanidines. A number of wholesome effects are attributed to these
oligomeric proanthocyanidines. OPC belongs to the group of flavonoids; these are secondary
components of plants, which exist in some types of fruits and vegetables. The main
aspect of the pharmacological effectiveness is the antioxidative effect of the OPC.
We present in detail the involvement of the highly reactive free radicals in the etiology
of several diseases as well as the significance of the natural antioxidant, which
counteracts the harmful oxidation process. We also discuss the effective protection
against cardiovascular diseases and cancer. The different effects of OPC in a holistic
therapeutic concept are presented with the help of casuistry.
