Wärmendes Topikum mit Symphytum officinale

Zusammenfassung

Der Einsatz topischer Zubereitungen aus Beinwellwurzel (Symphytum officinale) bei Prellungen, Zerrungen, Verstauchungen sowie schmerzhaften Muskel- und Gelenkbeschwerden hat sich vielfach bewährt. Mittels einer prospektiven, offenen, multizentrischen Anwendungsbeobachtung gemäß § 67 (6) AMG wurden Daten zur Beurteilung der Wirksamkeit und Verträglichkeit des Fertigarzneimittels Kytta Balsam^® f[*], das neben Beinwell zusätzlich Methylnicotinat als wärmende Komponente enthält, systematisch erfasst und analysiert. 167 Erfassungsbögen wurden ausgewertet. Der Beobachtungszeitraum betrug bis zu 2 Wochen. Die Schlüsselsymptome Ruhe- und Bewegungsschmerz, Druckdolenz, Bewegungseinschränkung, schmerzhafte Muskelverspannungen sowie morgendliche Gelenksteifigkeit bildeten sich deutlich zurück.

Abstract

In a recent post-marketing surveillance study according to German AMG, the antiphlogistic and analgetic properties of the medical cream Kytta Balsam^® f[*] containing an extract of comfrey roots (Symphytum officinale) and methyl-nicotinate were evaluated. 167 patients using the preparation externally for contusions and distortions, muscle and joint pain were documented. The study period was up to two weeks. The key symptoms were clearly reduced.

The average age of the patients was 49,7 years, 45 % were female. Additional NSAR-medication could be reduced in 19,2 % of the patients (70,1 % no data).

Physicians and patients were asked to mark the efficacy and tolerability in this multicenter study in score scales. The global assessment of the efficacy by the physicians (patients) was 37,1 % (40,1 %) excellent and 53,9 % (49,1 %) good.

56,3 % (56,3 %) of the physicians (patients) scored the tolerability of the cream with very good, 40,1 % (38,3 %) with good.
