ABSTRACT
The use of diagnostic venography for deep venous thrombosis has declined because of the use of duplex ultrasonography. However, endovascular therapy to treat acute deep venous thrombosis, venous stenosis, and venous occlusion has become increasingly more common. Knowledge of the normal anatomy and congenital anomalies of the venous system is important because it may have an impact on patient management and treatment options.
