Zusammenfassung
Chordome sind seltene Tumoren des Achsenskeletts, die histogenetisch ihren Ursprung
in Resten der Chorda dorsalis haben. Wegen ihrer topographisch ungünstigen Lage und
ihres charakteristisch expansiv-destruktiven Wachstums haben sie eine schlechte Prognose.
Die Mehrzahl der Chordome tritt in der Sacrococcygealregion (50 %) und in der Sphenookzipitalregion
insbesondere Clivus, Dorsum sellae (35 %) auf. Nur in 15 % aller Fälle sind Chordome
vertebral bzw. in völliger räumlicher Trennung vom Achsenskelett lokalisiert. Es wird
über Diagnostik und operative Therapie eines chondroiden Chordoms mit seltener Manifestation
im Parapharyngealraum berichtet.
Chondroid Chordoma of the Parapharyngeal Space: Case Report
Chordomas usually occur in the axial skeleton and they arise from the remnants of
notochord. Their growth is slow and they often metastase. Most frequently chordomas
are situated in sacral bone (50 %), in spheno-occipital region of the skull base (35
%) and in the cervical and lumbar spine (15 %). We reported an unusual case of chordoma
of the cervical spine with participation of the parapharyngeal space. The cervical
chordoma was excised by total resection of the tumor mass with partial vertebrectomy
C2/C3.
