RIGHT HEMICOLECTOMY WITH COMPLETE EXCISION OF THE MESOCOLON VIA ROBOTIC APPROACH
This free video aims to demonstrate the surgical technique of right hemicolectomy with complete excision of the mesocolon via a robotic approach. The procedure was performed at the Hospital do Amor in Barretos/SP during the Robotic Colorectal Surgery Certification Program. The surgery was conducted on a 63-year-old male patient with an ascending colon tumor classified as adenocarcinoma, accompanied by a lymph node mass located near the inferior mesenteric vessels. Preoperative staging showed no distant metastases. The procedure involved a right hemicolectomy with complete mesocolon excision and lymphadenectomy of the superior mesenteric vessels, followed by an isoperistaltic ileocolic mechanical anastomosis using the Da Vinci X robotic platform. The patient was discharged on the third postoperative day without early or late complications. Robotic surgery has proven to be both feasible and safe for complex procedures, even in training environments, as demonstrated in this case.
