In type 1 clinoidal meningiomas, arachnoid around the tumor is not preserved and therefore, dissection around the optic nerve and internal carotid artery and distal branches is particularly challenging with a high risk of intraoperative rupture, stroke, or iatrogenic optic neuropathy. In this video, we show that by combining the benefits of the pretemporal peeling, resection of multicompartmental type 1 meningiomas is feasible through a minipterional craniotomy.
