A Case of Symptomatic Pneumocephalus Caused by an Ethmoid Osteoma

We present the case of a 52-year-old female with a 2-year history of headache, transient CSF rhinorrhea, and a recent development of left hemiparesis caused by severe pneumocephalus. Although osteomas typically expand the skull base, in this patient’s case, the osteoma eroded a portion of her ethmoid bone, creating a ball-valve-like structure within her skull base, allowing air to enter the intracranial cavity.
