Bone Revisited – Diagnostic Strategies and Specific Entities

The Society of Musculoskeletal Imaging (SIMS) is a French-speaking and multidisciplinary scientific society with more than 1,400 members. It provides a wide range of year-round training, such as an annual meeting of musculoskeletal (MSK) radiologists that draws an average of 850 participants from 15 countries, an annual MSK ultrasonography week, and twice yearly ultrasonography workshops in France or abroad. SIMS also runs the dedicated MSK imaging program at the annual meeting of the French Society of Radiology and the MSK imaging training for residents at the French College of Radiology Teachers.
International involvement of SIMS has grown over the years, with regular exchanges with many societies worldwide via the cooperative organization of international lectures in North Africa, Canada, South America, and Asia.
SIMS is also actively involved in publishing, with a yearly journal, Gel-Contact, dedicated to state-of-the-art practices in MSK sonography and a book of collected lectures featured at the annual meeting. This year the topic of the meeting is “Bone.” It seemed relevant to bring together some articles selected for this meeting in this issue of Seminars. We hope this choice of subjects will interest you, and on behalf of the SIMS selection committee, we wish you fruitful reading.
