Current and Future Needs for Interventional Radiologist in Saudi Arabia

    Introduction: The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the most important and advanced countries in the Middle East in the health care sector, and it had shown remarkable progress. The infrastructure of health care systems in the past 10 years has improved, where the GDP per capita had reached to 23.31$.

    Method(s): Reviewing available articles and consulting many other interventional radiologists in the kingdom form different sectors.

    Result(s): In spite of the huge facilities available, there is a shortage in number of interventional radiologists across the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Although some big cities are in better situation than other smaller ones, still the number of qualified trained interventionists is less than demand.

    Conclusion(s): There is current and future shortage in the number of interventional radiologists in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
