Toshio Kuwai et al. Endoscopic submucosal dissection of early colorectal neoplasms
with a monopolar scissor-type knife: short- to long-term outcomes
This retrospective analysis assesses the feasibility and safety of an endoscopic submucosal
dissection (ESD) scissor-type knife that aims to ease and facilitate dissection. Among
228 patients who underwent ESD to treat early colorectal neoplasms, the authors report
no perforations, a 2.4 % delayed bleeding rate, and a very low long-term recurrence
rate; however, the median procedure time was still relatively long at 76 minutes.
