Pädiatrische Notfälle sind im Allgemeinen selten, und die durchschnittliche praktische Erfahrung eines Notarztes ist dadurch in diesem Bereich limitiert. Im alpinen Gelände ist er neben rettungsspezifischen Aspekten auch noch mit meteorologisch-topografischen Gegebenheiten konfrontiert. So stellen verletzte Kinder im präklinischen Notarztalltag stets nicht nur medizinisch, sondern auch rettungstechnisch und besonders emotional anspruchsvolle Situationen dar.
