Zusammenfassung

Virale Infektionen führen zu einer überschießenden Immun- bzw. Entzündungsreaktion, die den Körper schädigt und die Abwehrlage reduziert. In der Folge steigt das Risiko für lebensbedrohliche Pneumonien durch normalerweise harmlose Pneumokokken-Stämme. Aus diesem Grunde ist eine immunmodulierende, antientzündliche Therapie notwendig. Vitamin C ist ein wichtiger körpereigener Immunmodulator, der bei Infekten in hohem Maß verbraucht wird. Er aktiviert die Immunabwehr (z. B. Interferon, NK-Zellaktivität) und schützt gleichzeitig vor überschießenden Entzündungen (Reduktion von IL1, TNF-α). Vitamin-C-Infusionen beheben schnell Mangelsituationen und lindern Symptome, indem sie vor oxidativem Stress schützen. Sie sind gut mit anderen naturheilkundlichen Therapien kombinierbar.

Abstract

Viral infections lead to excessive immune and inflammatory responses that harm healthy tissue and weaken the body’s immune status. As a consequence, there is increased risk of life-threatening pneumonia due to infection by usually-harmless pneumococci stains. Therefore, an immune-supportive and anti-inflammatory treatment is indicated. Vitamin C is a vital immunomodulatory micronutrient, the endogenous levels of which decrease during viral infections. It normally acts to stimulate immune defences (e. g. interferon, NK-cells) and protect against excessive inflammation (decreases levels of IL1, TNF-α and other pro-inflammatory factors). Intravenous vitamin C can quickly correct vitamin C deficiency states and alleviates symptoms, while combating oxidative stress and dampening inflammation. Vitamin C therapy is readily combined with other complementary and alternative therapies
