It was with interest that I read the article entitled “Retorno ao esporte após osteotomia tibial alta com método de cunha de abertura” by Nicolini et al.[1] (Rev Bras Ortop 2021;56(3):313–319). The authors demonstrate the results of returning to sport of 12 patients submitted to this procedure after a 12-month follow-up.

Corroborating and amplifying the findings of Giordano et al.[2] (Rev Bras Ortop 2021;56(2):154–160), “Brazilian authors do not mention Brazilian authors: Nothing has changed since 1994”, we observed that a similar work by myself, De Carvalho Jr et al.,[3] “Physical Activity after High Tibial Osteotomy for Treatment of Medial Compartment Knee Osteoarthritis” [Rheumatology (Sunnyvale) 2016; 6:2] http://dx.doi.org/10.4172/2161-1149.1000200 ) was not used and does not appear in the bibliographic reference. In this study, we analyzed the return to sports practice of 174 patients submitted to this procedure, followed-up for 47.9 months. I believe that Giordano's findings could be expanded, added “even when Brazilian authors publish outside the Revista Brasileira de Ortopedia”.
