Defects in and Variability of the Thromboplastic System in Horse Plasma
Further Information
Publication History
Publication Date:
17 June 2018 (online)

Summary
Among 35 apparently normal horses, without any sign of hemorrhagic diathesis, which were tested with the thrombin generation test, 11 horses showed defects in the plasma thromboplastic system. The coagulation defects were inconstant and 3 horses showed transition from one thromboplastic defect to another.
This study was supported by a grant to Dr. Tage Astrup from the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, New York.
