Summary

In ADP-refractory rat platelets, thrombin-induced aggregation is enhanced in the presence of ADP and inhibited in the absence of ADP. Two mechanisms are proposed for thrombin-induced platelet aggregation: one through ADP release which may become refractory, and a second mechanism in which thrombin acts synergistieally with ADP.
