Summary
A rapid effective method for platelet homogenization using a pressure cell is described. With this method, almost complete homogenization of human platelets occurred without excessive solubilization of enzymes as compared to a pestle homogenization procedure where there was incomplete homogenization. Electron microscopy of pressure homogenates and fractions revealed well preserved organelles.
