An Experimental Study of the Healing Pattern After Bilateral Mandible Osteotomies in Sheep, Using Holographic Nondestructive Testing and a Three-Point Loading Transverse Strength Test

Summary

Holographic nondestructive testing has the advantage of displaying the stability/instability of both an osteosynthesis and a healing osteotomy. With the transverse strength test (S_t) it is only possible to evaluate the osteotomy healing. The results obtained from mandibles, without a plate seemed to correlate well with one another, in both methods.
