Zusammenfassung

In der Praxis wurde eine ca. 1 m lange, männliche Braune Hausschlange (Lamprophis fuliginosus fuliginosus) mit einer Umfangsvermehrung im Abdomen vorgestellt. Diese bestand seit mehreren Wochen, obwohl das Tier keine Nahrung aufgenommen hatte. Die Röntgenuntersuchung zeigte einen homogenen Weichteilschatten von ca. 2 × 6 cm Größe. Es wurde der Verdacht einer Tumorerkrankung geäußert und eine diagnostische Laparotomie durchgeführt. Die von zwei Blutgefäßen versorgte und von einer Kapsel umgebene Umfangsvermehrung wurde exstirpiert. Die histopathologische Diagnose lautete Seminom. Nach ca. 18 Monaten trat erneut eine abdominale Umfangsvermehrung auf. Bevor die Besitzer einen erneuten Operationstermin wahrnehmen konnten, verstarb das Tier.

Summary

An approximately one meter long Brown Housesnake (Lamprophis fuliginosus fuliginosus) with an abdominal extension was presented in the practice. Although the snake had not eaten, this condition had existed for several weeks. X-ray examination revealed a homogenous soft tissue shadow of approximately 2 × 6 cm. The growth was tentatively diagnosed as a tumor, and a diagnostic laparascopy was performed. The growth, which was encapsulated and supplied by two blood vessels, was removed. The histological examination of the tissue led to the diagnosis seminoma. After 18 months the abdominal extension reappeared. Before the second surgery could be performed, the snake died.
