Abstract

Summary

The use of multiple gated cardiac imaging in the diagnosis of left ventricular pseudo-aneurysm is reported and the clinical and therapeutic implications are discussed. Complemented with myocardial perfusion imaging, it is the method of choice for screening patients following infarction or chest trauma who may develop this potentially treatable complication of myocardial necrosis.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird über die Verwendung der getriggerten Herz-Szintigraphie zur Diagnose eines Pseudo-Aneurysmas des linken Ventrikels berichtet und die klinischen und therapeutischen Folgerungen diskutiert. In Verbindung mit der myokardialen Perfusions-Szintigraphie ist sie die Methode der Wahl zur Untersuchung von Patienten nach Herzinfarkt oder Brusttrauma, die diese potentiell behandelbare Komplikation einer Myokardnekrose entwickeln könnten.
