Summary

Omega-3 has documented preventive effects on cancer. Once cancer has developed, supply of omega-3 reduces side effects of chemotherapy as well as the underlying disease itself such as the common fatigue. But how can the optimal dosage be determined? Today, laboratory tests are able to measure the most important fatty acids in the blood and interpret those based on their relations among each another (e. g. omega-6/3 ratio, omega-3 index).
