Rilonacept, ein Fusionsprotein aus den extrazellulären Domänen des IL-1-Rezeptors (IL: Interleukin) und dem Fc-Fragment (Fc: konstante Domäne) des humanen IgG1-Antikörpers (IgG: Immunglobulin G), bindet IL-1α und IL-1β hochaffin. Möglicherweise bindet Rilonacept auch an den IL-1-Rezeptorantagonist. Ilowite et al. haben nun in ihrer randomisierten, doppelblinden und plazebokontrollierten Studie die Wirksamkeit und Sicherheit von Rilonacept bei systemischer juveniler idiopathischer Arthritis (JIA) untersucht.
