Zusammenfassung
Das gemeinsame Ziel der Kieferorthopädie und der Logopädie ist nicht nur eine effiziente
Prävention von Orofazialen Dysfunktionen und Zahn- und Kieferfehlstellungen (siehe
IOK 4/2013), sondern auch eine effiziente Therapie. Dieser Beitrag befasst sich mit
der Zusammenarbeit dieser beiden Disziplinen.
Ich beschreibe die offene Mundhaltung und ihre Therapie, wie sie in Band II von MFT kompakt-Diagnostik und Therapie dargestellt wird. Mögliche Grenzen der MFT durch morphologische und funktionelle
Besonderheiten, die Rezidive verursachen können, werden aufgezeigt.
Es wird die grundsätzliche Frage gestellt, ob es Aufgabe von Kieferorthopäden sein
kann, Schnuller zu empfehlen.
Ein praktisches Ergebnis interdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit mit der Universitätsklinik
für Kieferorthopädie Innsbruck ist die Erarbeitung von Kommunikationsbögen und ein
gemeinsam mit einem HNO-Arzt entwickelter logopädischer Befundbericht für das „Frenulum
breve“, die im Laufe dieses Artikels vorgestellt werden.
Abstract
The common aim of orthodontics and logopedics is not only efficient prevention (see
IOK 4/2013) but also effective therapy. This article deals with the collaboration
of these 2 disciplines.
It describes our approach to the assessment of the open-mouth posture and our therapeutic
procedures as we outlined them in Vol. II of MFT kompakt – Diagnostik und Therapie. The article demonstrates possible limitations of MFT as well as morphological and
functional features which could cause a relapse.
It also poses the fundamental question, should the recommendation of pacifiers lie
within the remit of orthodontics?
A practical result for such an interdisciplinary collaboration has been achieved by
the Innsbruck University Clinic for Orthodontics in formulating protocols for communication
and furthermore, with an otolaryngologist, developing specific guidelines for the
logopedic assessment of the frenulum breve.
