Hintergrund

Die superfizielle Siderose ist ein seltenes Krankheitsbild des zentralen Nervensystems, das durch subpiale und subleptomeningeale Hämosiderinablagerungen mit der Folge neuronaler Schäden durch die toxischen Blutabbauprodukte gekennzeichnet ist. Klinisch präsentiert sich diese Erkrankung durch progrediente beidseitige Taubheit, Ataxie und Pyramidenbahnläsionen, selten auch mit Demenz, Kopfschmerzen und Tremor [1]. Ursächlich sind rezidivierende oder chronische Subarachnoidalblutungen, deren Quelle in nur 50 % der Fälle aufgeklärt werden kann [2].
