Die Förderkapazität des Katheters ist bei gutem Shuntfluss problemlos. Eine thrombogene
Platzierung des Katheters im durchströmten Lumen wird vermieden.
The local combination of an arteriovenous autologous or alloplastic shunt with a dialysis
catheter can be of advantage in some situations. Thereby, the tip of a dialysis catheter
is placed not in, but at the arteriovenous blood stream of the shuntvein, created
in the same operation. The blood supply of the catheter in case of a sufficient shunt
flow is excellent. The catheter is not placed within the venous bloodstream, thus
avoiding venous thrombosis.
