Neues Qualitätssiegel: Palliativ-freundliches Krankenhaus und Palliativ-freundliche stationäre Pflegeeinrichtung

Zusammenfassung

Die zentrale Herausforderung in der Betreuung Sterbender ist es, ein würdevolles Sterben unabhängig des Sterbeortes sicher zu stellen. Da annähernd 90 % aller Menschen Deutschlands in stationären Einrichtungen sterben, muss sich die primäre Aufmerksamkeit insbesondere auf diese Arbeitsbereiche konzentrieren. Zu diesem Zweck wurde das Qualitätssiegel „Palliativ-freundliches Krankenhaus“ entwickelt. Insgesamt wurden 101 relevante Kriterien aus den Bereichen Kommunikation, Entscheidungsfindung, räumliche und zeitliche Situation, Angehörigenintegration, Ausbildung, Symptomkontrolle, Therapie, interne und externe Kooperation identifiziert. Auf diese Weise werden die Kennzeichen einer würdevollen Sterbebetreuung, der hierfür notwendigen Strukturqualität, Prozessqualität und der bisher erreichten Ergebnisqualität erfasst. Mit der Sterbebetreuung beauftragte Einrichtungen haben die Möglichkeit, das neue Qualitätssiegel in einem eigenständigen Verfahren zu erwerben. Angestrebt wird indes, dass das Siegel im Rahmen der allgemeinen Qualitätsprüfungen der Einrichtungen erworben wird.

Summary

The central challenge in the care for the dying is to provide a dignified death regardless of the place of death safely. Because approximately 90 % of all people in Germany die in inpatient facilities, the primary attention should particularly focus on these areas of work. For this purpose, the quality seal „palliative-friendly hospital“ was developed. A total of 101 relevant criteria in the areas of communication, decision making, spatial and temporal situation, family integration, training, symptom control, treatment, internal and external co-operation were identified. In this way, the hallmark of a dignified death care, of the necessary structural quality, process quality and the quality of results achieved to date are recorded. With the death care mandated institutions have the opportunity to purchase the new quality seal in a separate process. The aim is, however, that the seal is acquired as part of the general audits of the facilities.
