Epidemiologie psychischer Störungen

Während die deskriptive Epidemiologie sich u. a. mit Inzidenz- und Prävalenzraten, dem Verlauf sowie den sozioökonomischen Beeinträchtigungen durch psychische Erkrankungen befasst, will die analytische Epidemiologie die Kenntnis über Ursachen und Risikofaktoren erweitern. Zur Erreichung dieser Ziele kommen verschiedene Erfassungsmethoden zum Einsatz, z. B. Quer- oder Längsschnittuntersuchungen, Beobachtungsstudien und Risikoberechnungen.
