Eine von 85 Schwangerschaften in Deutschland ist eine Mehrlingsschwangerschaft. Für die klinische Beurteilung einer Zwillingsschwangerschaft ist die Chorionizität von besonderer Bedeutung. Sie hat einen maßgeblichen Einfluss auf die möglichen klinischen Komplikationen [[1]].
