Nichtsuizidale Selbstverletzung bei Kindern und Jugendlichen

Die nichtsuizidale Selbstverletzung ist ein häufig auftretendes Problem bei Jugendlichen. Vor allem repetitive nichtsuizidale Selbstverletzung ist häufig mit einem hohen Maß an Psychopathologie und einer erheblichen Belastung für Betroffene und deren Umnfeld assoziiert. Als Risikofaktoren für nichtsuizidale Selbstverletzung gelten das weibliche Geschlecht, familiäre Faktoren sowie psychische Störungen. Die genaue Ätiologie inkl. der Neurobiologie ist noch unklar. Die nichtsuizidale Selbstverletzung kann mit ausgeprägter psychiatrischer Komorbidität und Suizidalität einhergehen, daher ist eine fachgerechte Diagnostik dringend indiziert. Zur Behandlung sollten vordergründig psychotherapeutische Maßnahmen angestrebt werden.
